How are you going to choose Spray machines for Agriculture practices , here are types of Sprayers

Spray machines for Agriculture

Sprayers are machines used to apply liquid chemicals on plants for pest and disease control. They can also be used to apply herbicides to control weeds and to spray micronutrients to enhance plant growth.

TYPES OF SPRAYERS

Sprayers can be classified based on the volume of liquid handled as follows:

1) High-volume sprayer (more than 400 litres/ha)

2) Low-volume sprayer (5 to 400 litres/hectare)

3) Ultra-low volume sprayer (ULV) spray (less than 5 litres/ha).

Types of commercial sprayers:

  • Manually operated:
  • Hand atomizer: This sprayer is ideally suited for home gardens and small fields. It consists of a container with a capacity of 0.5 to 3.5 liters, a built-in air pump, pressure gauge, nozzle, and flow cutoff lever.

Hand compression sprayer is designed for applying chemicals to field crops and lawns. Similar to a hand atomizer, this sprayer consists of a tank with a capacity of 10-12 litres.

  • KNAPSACK SPRAYER (HAND-OPERATED) This sprayer is designed for applying chemicals to various field crops. The operator wears the sprayer on their back, hence the name “knapsack sprayer.”

ROCKER SPRAYER The rocker sprayer is primarily utilized for spraying fruit trees in orchards, as well as coconut and areca nut trees, flower gardens, and cotton and tapioca fields. It is equipped with a piston-type pump, a platform with a fork, a lever for pump operation, a pressure chamber, a suction hose with a strainer, a delivery hose, and a spray gun with a flow control knob and nozzle.

  • power sprayers:
  • There are two main types of sprayers. The first type is the hydraulic sprayer, which uses hydraulic energy to atomize and spray liquid. It can be fitted with different types of pumps such as piston, plunger, roller vane, diaphragm, gear, or centrifugal. For example, a hydraulic sprayer with a 2000 liter capacity can be operated using a tractor’s power take-off (PTO).

The second type is the tractor-operated sprayer, which can be used for plant protection, weedicide spraying, and liquid fertilizing. It is equipped with a pressure gauge and regulator to control the spray pressure, and the pump is powered by the tractor’s PTO.
